Verano Yakuza (Yakuza Summer) features Adriana Lozano’s drawings as if they were the photographs of the japanese mafia on holidays. Framed in an imaginary place between 80’s B-series cinema and clichés of exotic cultures, Adriana is able to tell a story that is paradoxically superficial and complex at the same time. Being able to talk about “the others” and putting them in everyday situations she can start to wrap her head around how to understand the unknown, the foreign and also commence to think how, we all, with all of our differences, are going to begin planning to live together in this world.
